PRIVACY POLICY

BublCo (Pty) Ltd (“BublCo”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the
BublCo mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we
collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use
our app, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information
Act, 2013 (POPIA).

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
a) Account Information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and
profile photo. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name
and email from Google.
b) Profile Information
Hosts may provide additional details including space descriptions,
photos, pricing, and availability.
c) Booking Information
We collect booking dates, times, duration, and payment amounts
associated with your transactions.
d) Payment Information
Payments are processed by PayFast. BublCo does not store your
card details. PayFast’s privacy policy applies to all payment
transactions.
e) Communications
Messages sent between nomads and hosts through the in-app
messaging system are stored to facilitate communication.
f) Device Information
We collect your device’s push notification token to send you
booking updates and messages. Biometric authentication (Face ID
/ fingerprint) is handled entirely on your device — we never
receive or store biometric data.
g) Photos
If you upload space images, we store these on secure cloud
servers. Access to your photo library is only requested when
you choose to upload an image.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to:
• Create and manage your account
• Process and confirm bookings
• Facilitate payments via PayFast
• Enable messaging between nomads and hosts
• Send booking confirmations, updates, and receipts by email
• Send push notifications for booking activity and messages
• Improve the app and resolve technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations under South African law

3. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only
with the following third parties where necessary to operate the
service:
• Supabase — secure database hosting and authentication
• PayFast — payment processing
• Expo — push notification delivery
• Google — sign-in authentication (if used)
All third-party providers are required to handle your data
securely and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
When you make a booking, your first name and general booking
details are shared with the relevant host, and vice versa.

4. DATA RETENTION
We retain your personal information for as long as your account
is active or as needed to provide our services. You may request
deletion of your account and associated data at any time by
contacting us at privacy@bublco.co.za.
Booking records may be retained for up to 5 years for financial
and legal compliance purposes.

5. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER POPIA
You have the right to:
• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Object to the processing of your information
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of
South Africa at www.justice.gov.za/inforeg

6. SECURITY
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to
protect your personal information against unauthorised access,
loss, or misuse. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and
at rest. Payment data is handled exclusively by PayFast and
never stored on our servers.

7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
BublCo is not intended for use by persons under the age of 18.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information,
please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will
notify you of significant changes via the app or by email.
Continued use of BublCo after changes are posted constitutes
acceptance of the updated policy.
